Richard Read (Transport) Ltd

We are a family owned business, founded in 1946, and still managed today by the Read family.

The company now own over 125,000 square feet of warehousing space, most of which is fully racked to accommodate the requirements of their customers, who include two major blue chip companies.

The majority of the space is held at the company's Cinderford complex, from where the whole Warehouse operation is managed. Computerised links with its customers are in place, enabling swift and easy access to stock levels.

The Longhope depot, which has been in the ownership of the company for over 50 years, is the Head Office, where the administrative management of the company takes place.

The Transport operation, which complements our Warehousing department, is managed from here involving an average of 100 or more vehicle movements per day.

The Longhope depot mainly concentrates its efforts on its ERF distributorship which it is proud to have held for over 40 years. As well as a Parts department, holding over 7,500 parts, there is a vehicle repair workshop facility housing all the technology available. Add to this a Paintshop, a Ministry of Transport approved Tachograph facility and you can easily see that the depot can be called a One-stop Shop for the Commercial Vehicle operator.

We sell New and secondhand Commercial vehicles, starting at 7.50 tonnes to 44 tonnes and because of our expertise we can adapt any vehicle to the customer's requirements.

We also look after customers, new and old, away from base. We currently have contracts with Police authorities for motorway and roadside breakdowns, and boast a fleet of HGV recovery vehicles, which we believe are the most efficient in the area.

We believe in giving the customer a total service, and continually strive to make sure that we do not let them down.
